Studio DEMO: Sound as Architecture

How can sound function as an architectural material? In this talk, Diya Vij and Anna Harsanyi—both curators at public arts organization Creative Time—will explore the role that audio can play in relational, IRL experiences. Pulling from the organization’s 2025 curatorial theme, Sonic Commons, the pair will explore how sound can be used as a tool for understanding community, power, and care. Vij and Harsanyi will be joined in discussion by a special guest, Robert Sember–– Sonic Commons contributor and member of international sound-art collective, Ultra-red.
