Art & Code Keynote

Keynotes feature invited speakers whose knowledge and experience add further context to the projects incubated at NEW INC. Speakers will offer introductory remarks as a way to frame Track Talks, and to align and expand on our members’ work.

To set the stage for our Art & Code Track, artist Rashaad Newsome will dive into his trailblazing research around AI—including how his work both leverages and critiques the new medium. As Newsome has said, “We can learn a lot about the human condition by looking at the tools we create, and how we use them.” Newsome’s work exposes these learnings by employing animation, sculpture, music, and custom AI tools to both deconstruct and reconstruct cultural realities. In this talk, the multi-award-winning artist will give a behind-the-scenes look at his subversive practice, while sharing critical insights on how the AI revolution is affecting culture and society at large.
