Embaci is a Brooklyn-born artist and musician of Trinidadian heritage whose practice merges sound, technology, and storytelling into celestial, shape-shifting forms. Trained as a contralto opera singer, she fuses classical technique with experimental production—her voice serving as both instrument and portal. Approaching sound as a space for interaction and discovery, she transforms field recordings and everyday textures into immersive, multidimensional compositions. Moving fluidly across genres and collaborations, Embaci crafts living soundscapes that invite presence, memory, and collective belonging. For her DEMO2026 talk, Embaci will share RIFTAWAY, a quilt-based sonic score that brings traditional patchwork into conversation with synthesized sound and interactive technology.
