Chiku Komiya

Chiku Komiya is a Tokyo based media artist and composer. Komiya explores new musical forms by destabilizing conventional relationships between voice, language, and musical notation within contemporary media environments. His work focuses on how voice is shaped by multilingual conditions and synthetic technologies. Through working with songs in a self-developed synthetic language, looping relationships between artificial and human voices, and generative forms of notation, Komiya work across a wide range of formats, ranging from score-based compositions to media performances and installations.
