Alex Darby

Alex Darby is an interdisciplinary artist, creative producer, and cultural strategist whose work centers on cultivating vibrant, sustainable ecosystems for creative practice. She is the founder of The Hybrid Studio, a collaborative platform supporting new media artists, guiding transformative practice and producing ambitious projects. Darby has held leadership roles at NEW INC, shaping the incubator’s early programs and leading Nokia Bell Labs’ E.A.T. residency; designed artistic and technology initiatives for globally recognized cultural festival NYCJW; produced large-scale site-specific installations for the Biennale of Sydney; and is a co-creator of Unnamed Friends, a community funding collective. Her projects have been presented internationally at MoMA, New Museum, NY Live Arts, Aurora Dallas, SXSW, NTMoFA, and Serendipity Arts Festival, and featured in The New York Times, Wired, Forbes, Creators Project, and FastCo Design. Darby holds a BVA in Object Design and an MA in Art Curatorship from the University of Sydney.
